植物正链RNA病毒外壳蛋白的非结构功能研究进展

在植物病毒侵染的过程中,由病毒编码的外壳蛋白(coat protein, CP)主要是作为结构蛋白包装病毒的基因组防止其被降解。然而, 越来越多的实验证据表明CP还可作为非结构蛋白, 通过与病毒或者寄主因子的互作而参与到病毒的侵染和循环过程中。本文以植物病毒外壳蛋白的非结构蛋白活性为重点, 总结其不同的表达量及表达时期在病毒的运动及介体传播、复制、翻译,以及与寄主因子互作等过程中的功能。此外, CP也会在寄主体内进行翻译后修饰 (如磷酸化、泛素化等), 进而调控病毒的侵染过程。最后对CP非结构功能研究进行展望和潜在应用进行讨论。
uring the infection of plant viruses, their coat proteins (CPs) mainly package viral genomic RNAs and protect them away from degradation. In addition, amounting experimental evidences demonstrate that CPs also serve as multifunctional proteins involved in most stages of the viral infection cycles through specific interactions with viral and/or host factors. This review focuses on the non-structural functions of the CPs in the viral transmission, replication, translation, interaction with host factors, etc. In addition, the CPs' functions are regulated by post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination, which also affects viral infection cycles. In the end, the research perspectives and potential applications about CPs' non-structural functions are discussed.
