Progress on the Research of Discotic Liquid Crystals with Inverted topology
本文介绍了设计液晶分子的一新原则,即带内取向基的刚性芳炔大环,它们具有与至今报道过的所有经典碟状液晶相反的拓扑构型即具有柔性的核及刚硬的周边。介绍了环上取代基的取向、类型、大小、数目对此类化合物液晶行为的影响,指出了这一设计原则的普遍性及意义。
A new design principle for liquid crystals is introduced in this article, namely shape persistent arylacetylene macrocycles with intraannular orientation of the alkylchains. They are composed of a rigid periphery and flexible side groups that point to the inside (inverted liquid crystals) different from all the classic design principle for discotic liquid crystals. The influence of the orientation, types and size of the ring substituents on their liquid crystalline behaviors are discussed. All the investigation support that this design principle is rather general and can be used for design more complex supra structure in the future.
