普通长翼蝠回声定位声波的地理进化研究

哺乳动物的种内声信号存在明显的地理变化,然而其原因和意义仍不清楚,特别是对主要依赖声信号在夜空中活动的翼手目蝙蝠。本研究以中国广泛分布的普通长翼蝠(Miniopterus fuliginosus)为研究对象,通过大范围采样和录制其回声定位声波,结合相应的地理、气候和形态数据,研究其回声定位声波的地理变化模式及其进化驱动力。结果表明:普通长翼蝠回声定位声波的开始频率、结束频率和峰频在群体间显著差异。回声定位声波的地理变化与其前臂长无显著相关性,表明其地理变化不受身体大小的胁迫;气候条件也对其回声定位声波无显著影响,但其地理距离与其声学距离显著相关,表明文化漂变可能对普通长翼蝠回声定位声波的地理进化具有重要的推动作用。
here is apparent geographic variation in intraspecific acoustic signals of mammals, especially in the Chiroptera which depend mainly upon acoustic signals to navigate and locate at night, but both the cause and the significance of geographic variation in acoustic signals remains poorly understood. In this study, the patterns of geographic variation of the echolocation calls in Miniopterus fuliginosus were investigated in a large geographic scale by recording their echolocation calls. Additionally, we also estimated factors affecting geographic variation of echolocation calls in M. fuliginosus by integrating corresponding geographic, climatic and morphological data. The results showed that there were significant differences in start frequency, end frequency and peak frequency of echolocation calls in M. fuliginosus among colonies. No significant correlation between the forearm length difference and the acoustic Euclidean distance could be found, manifesting body size of M. fuliginosus does not strongly constraint geographic variation of echolocation calls in bats. Moreover, climate conditions did not correlate with significantly acoustic Euclidean distance. However, the geographic distance correlated significantly with the acoustic Euclidean distance, indicating that cultural drift may promote the geographic variation of echolocation calls in M. fuliginosus.
