网络微积分是一种研究排队系统和网络系统的系统理论和数学分析工具。目前在有线分组网络的性能参数分析中,已经得到了广泛应用。本文运用网络微积分理论,将无线信道的三种性能参数用不同的网络微积分元素进行建模,然后将整个无线信道看作由多个网络微积分元素的串联,从而将网络微积分理论的应用扩展到无线网络中。针对无线信道的时变特性,提出了一个包含两个状态的马尔可夫链模型,将无线信道的状态变化过程用马尔可夫状态序列表示,并可以得到无线信道在一定时间段内的分段服务曲线。结合网络微积分的数学知识以及网络微积分元素服务曲线的串联性质,对无线信道的输出函数、积压数据及时延等性能参数进行了评估,并得到了这些参数在一定概率下的似然边界。

Network calculus is a systematic theory and mathematical analytical tool which can be used to study queuing and networking systems. Recently, network calculus has been widely applied in the analysis of performance metrics in wired packet network. In this article, by applying the theory of network calculus, three kinds of performance metrics of the wireless channel was modeled by respective network calculus component. The entire wireless channel was viewed as a concatenation of several network calculus components. Therefore, the application of network calculus has been extended to the area of wireless network. To consider the time-varying nature of wireless channel, a two-state Markov chain model was proposed. The process of the state transformation of wireless channel was presented by a Markov state sequence and a piece-wise service curve of the wireless channel in a certain time slot could be expressed. With the combination of the mathematical knowledge of network calculus and the concatenation property of service curves of network calculus components, several performance metrics of wireless channel such as output function, backlog and delay were evaluated and the probabilistic bounds with desired probabilities for these metrics were also calculated.
