十四至十八世纪的宁波和舟山关系考略

he shipping history of neighboring harbors as Ningbo and Zhoushan is time-honored. The relationship between these two places is further enhanced and upgraded with the rapid development of communication with the outside world since Sui and Tang dynasties. As the outer harbor and auxiliary one, Zhoushan, together with Ningbo, has been playing a significant role in the political, economic and cultural exchange with the outside world, hence their ties more tangible and time-tested.The paper focuses on the relationship between these two harbors from the 14th to 18th century and postulates that with the change of communication mode of various parts of the then world, the ban on maritime trade and closed door policy have caused China to fail to catch the opportunity of inter-continental shipping, they virtually have not imposed overmuch impact on the economic and cultural exchange between them. On the contrary, they have given rise to the considerable development of the two harbors and consequently, their relationship is rendered closer.
