QoE-based Optimization for Network Video Transmission in Telepresence Robot System

针对遥在机器人系统操作端的视频质量问题,本文提出了一种基于QoE(Quality of Experience)的遥在机器人系统视频传输优化算法。首先结合网络遥在机器人的移动性和相机视野中目标物的速度信息,对遥在机器人系统进行视频参数的辨识,以计算网络和用户的QoE值,并建立优化函数,利用多目标优化方法,对影响QoE指标的视频参数进行优化,从而达到提高操作端视频质量的目的。最后的用户体验测试表明,该优化算法在不同的受限带宽下能够降低视频传输的丢包率并能提高操作端视频质量,改善操控体验。

iming at the problem of video quality on the operation side in telepresence robot system, an optimization algorithm of video transmission in telepresence robot system based on QoE(Quality of Experience) was presented in this paper. Firstly, considering to the mobility of the telepresence robot and the velocity of target in the scope of camera, the identification of the system is conducted for computing the QoE of network's and user's. Then the optimization function is established. In order to improve the video quality on the operation side, the parameters of video transmission which affect QoE are optimized in multivariable optimization method. The user tests showed that this algorithm can reduce the packet loss, improve the video quality and operation experience in limited bandwidth.
