有研究表明,大豆种内根系相互作用时,会导致作物根系生物量增加,根冠比上升和产量下降,作物碳水化合物分配受到影响,主要向地下部分配,即所谓"公共财产悲剧"。而对于种间根系相互作用时根系生长和根系形态的研究还较为鲜见。前人的研究已经证明,在小麦/玉米间作体系中,两种作物共同生长期小麦处于竞争优势,而玉米生长受到抑制;小麦根系可以伸展到玉米根系生长区域,而玉米根系不能进入小麦的生长区域,但这一现象的机理尚未清楚。本研究采用砂培方法通过小麦/玉米竞争体系种间根系相互作用及不同生长空间,研究根系互作和生长空间对作物生长和根系形态的影响;为种间互作的实质提供理论依据。并获得以下主要结论:小麦/玉米种间根系相互作用时,小麦根系的存在对玉米根系生长及根系各形态参数没有影响,而玉米根系的存在使小麦根系干重、根长、根表面积、根体积、根系直径都显著增加。根系生长空间对玉米根系生长及形态变化有影响而对小麦的根系生长及形态变化没有影响;玉米的根系千重、根长、根表面积、根体积都随着根系生长空间的增大而增大。

here is so-called the tragedy of the commons. where root competition between soybean plants results in more root growth and less seed yield, which occurred in different individuals with the samespecies. However. there is little information available if interspecific competition also results in similar phenomenon (the tragedy of the commons). Our previous field studies have shown that there was a competitive advantage for wheat. whose roots were able to disperse into maize root growth area while maize roots can not disperse into under wheat in wheat/maize intercropping system, but the mechanism underling this interactions are not fully understood. Objectives of this study is to examine the effect interspecific root interactions and root growth space on root development and root morphology. Three root box experiments were conducted to examine the effects of interspecific root contacts on root morphological parameters of wheat and maize, by root split techniques. The main results as follows: The presence of wheat root did not significantly affect maize root development and root morphology, while the presence of maize root increased wheat root production (root mass) and changed root morphology. The more root growth space was, the better maize root development and root morphology. However. there was less root response to root space for wheat.
