纳米材料目前在消费品中得到日益广泛的应用。许多纳米材料最终进入到污水处理系统或垃圾填埋系统中。工程纳米材料在污水处理过程和污泥处理工程中的潜在的行为及对活性污泥工艺的毒性效应机制日益受到关注。纳米材料对活性污泥中微生物的毒性效应机制主要包括聚集吸附机制,诱导产生过氧自由基和溶出金属离子破坏微生物正常的代谢等几种方式。目前有关工程纳米材料对人体健康的毒性研究较多,但对工程纳米材料在活性污泥工艺中的毒性效应的研究尚少。为了合理的应用纳米材料,以及有效的降低其对活性污泥工艺的影响具有重要的作用,进一步工程纳米材料在活性污泥工艺中的毒理效应是非常必要的。

Nanomaterials have been increasingly used in consumer products. Many of them finally transfer into the waste water treatment system, or landfills. The behavior and the potential toxic effect of engineering nanomaterials on the wastewater treatment process and waste sludge anaerobic digestion are valued highly. The toxic effects of nanomaterials on microbes in activated sludge mechanisms mainly include the adsorption mechanism, inducing the reactive oxygen species (ROS) and dissolving metal ions which destroy the normal metabolism of microbes and so on. Currently, researches about nanomaterials toxicity focus on the human health, while there are little researches about the toxic effect of engineering nanomaterials on the activated sludge process. In order to promote the reasonable application of nanomaterials, and effectively reduce their negative impact on the activated sludge process, it is necessary to study the toxic effects of nanomaterials on the activated sludge process.
