采用甲类功放的MQAM发射机能效研究

针对采用甲类线形功率放大器和M进制正交幅度调制(M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation:MQAM)的发射机,在同时考虑基带和射频电路能耗的情况下,推导了在平坦信道中误码率小于设定值时发射机的能效,即传输每数据比特消耗的总能量。分析了码元脉冲对于能效的影响,并且定义了一个衡量指标用以比较不同脉冲对应的发射机能效。提出了一种基于图形的方法展示了谱效对于能效影响的深层机理,揭示了随着谱效增大,发射机能效性能先提高再降低。通过仿真证实了上述结论。
his paper derives the energy efficiency (EE), i.e.,the total energy consumed for conveying per message bitsfor the transmitter using Class-A linear power amplifier (PA) andM-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(MQAM).The transmission is over a flat-fading channelwith bit error rate (BER) smaller than a prescribed value.The energy consumption of both baseband and radio-frequency circuitsis taken into account.The impact of symbol pulse on the EE is studied,and a metric which enables comparison ofthe EE corresponding to different pulses is defined.A geometric-interpretation based method is proposed to showthe fundamental mechanism on the impact of spectral efficiency (SE) on the EE,which reveals the fact that the EE first improves then degrades as the SE increases.The fact is finally corroborated by simulation results.
