四维信号调制格式在高速光传输系统中的应用

本论文研究了以偏振切换-正交相移键控(PS-QPSK)和双偏振-正交相移键控(DP-QPSK)信号为代表的典型四维信号调制格式的产生原理,理论分析了PS-QPSK和DP-QPSK信号的性能优势。针对这两种信号,提出了一种新的调制方案,该方案在保持PS/DP-QPSK信号优势的同时减少了发射端使用的马赫增德尔调制器的数量,大大降低了发射机成本。通过仿真结果分析验证了该方案的可行性,得出在相同比特率(84 Gb/s)和相同波特率(28 GBd)条件下,PS-RZ-QPSK比DP-RZ-QPSK信号具有更好的传输性能。
In this paper the modulation principle of typical 4-dimensional signals is demonstrated. Performance of dual-polarization quadrature phase shift keying signal and polarization-switched QPSK are proved. A novel modulation sheme of DP/PS-RZ-QPSK is proposed in this paper. The scheme presents similar performance as traditional structure while reducing transmitter cost by less use of Mach-Zehnder modulator. The simulate result indicates PS-RZ-QPSK can achive a better transmission performance than DP-RZ-QPSK at the same bit rate (84 Gb/s) and baud rate (28 GBd), and proves showing the feasibility of novel modulaiton scheme.
