无线网络中的平滑自适应媒体播放策略
Smooth Video Playout Control for Wireless Network
本文针对流媒体应用中由无线网络的不稳定性引起的缓冲区下溢出问题,提出了一个自适应播放算法来改善流媒体播放的可靠性与流畅性。本文通过在流媒体系统的接收端统计接收到的信息来估计信道状态,并利用信道状态来动态计算每一时刻的缓冲区阈值。播放时采用了一组可供选择的播放速率,根据缓冲数据量与阈值的关系,使每一帧的速率在这一组速率中平滑的变化。通过仿真可以看出此方案提高了流媒体播放的可靠性与流畅性。
In this paper, we propose an adaptive media playout scheme to deal with the interruption of streaming video caused by network jitters and packet losses of best-effort networks. In traditional scheme, the fixed threshold is not flexible due to the fluctuation of the wireless network. The fixed adjust rate can also downgrade the user perceive quality. In our scheme, we use the statistics of the receiver to estimate the channel state, and then compute the threshold dynamically. During the adjustment phase, a group of playback rate can be selected, and the rate of the video frame can only change between the adjacent frame rates. This method reduces the time of the frame rate adjustment and ensures that the frame rate will not change too fast to reduce the video quality. The simulation result shows that out scheme improves the reliability and the fluency of streaming media.
