Research on infiltration flow and soil moisture dynamics according to soil depth by drip irrigation technique
rip Irrigation Technique supplies limited water amount into the effectively active area of roots by dripper for crops to have the best development and growth. In irrigation progress, water infiltrates down in the cultivated layer, soil moisture dynamics also change by space and time. During the experimental progress to research on suitable drip irrigation schedule for tomato in the Water Saving Park of Hohai University, China from February to July, 2007, the Author had carried out the experiment and observed infiltration process and soil moisture dynamics by depth. Based on calculated and observed results, the author has proposed with relationships of parameters as irrigation water amount, average diameter of wetting front on the ground, infiltration depth and time for drip irrigation technique. Observed results also showed that drip irrigation water amount for tomato, what was calculated by Penman method based on combination between evapotranspiration and each growing stage, was suitable because soil moisture content was in the optimal moisture limit for dry crops.
