White organic light-emitting diode based on exciplex and electroplex emission at PVK:TPD/Bphen interface

In this paper, white organic light-emitting diode (WOLED) with a structure of ITO/poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) : N,N'-diphenyl-N,N'-bis(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD)/ 4,7-Diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Bphen) / LiF/Al has been fabricated via thermal evaporation technique.There are four emission peaks at about 404nm, 421nm, 476nm,600nm in EL spectra of this device. The emission peak at 401nm and 421nm come from TPD molecular emission. The emission peak at 480nm is from exciplex emission between TPD molecular and Bphen molecular, and the emission peak at 600nm comes from electroplex emission between PVK molecular and Bphen molecular at the PVK:TPD/Bphen interface. The dynamic process has been investigated when exciplex emission and electroplex emission are in the same organic interface.
