his paper analyses the development process of employment structure and characteristic of Beijing from 1949 to 2003 .The study discoveries :first,there is close relationship between the change of political system and that of emplyment scale of beijing from 1949 to 1978; Second, there is also close relationship between the change of strategy of economic growth and that of employment structure of beijing from 1978 to 2003.
