Grain Crushing and Critical States of Coarse Granular Soils

高应力水平时粗粒土的颗粒破碎对其强度和变形机理有重要影响。基于临界状态的土力学理论对重塑土的应力-应变关系的描述较为成功,但是目前颗粒破碎对粗粒土的临界状态的影响及其数学描述鲜有研究。基于已有试验资料,对粗粒土颗粒破碎时的临界状态进行研究,并提出考虑颗粒破碎程度的数学表达式。首先提出反映粗粒土颗粒破碎的破碎指数;然后对颗粒破碎对临界状态的影响进行分析,并给出考虑颗粒破碎指数的临界状态线的数学表达式;最后对 坐标平面内不同破碎程度时临界状态线的演化规律进行了探讨并与粗粒土的三轴试验结果进行了对比。结果表明所提出的考虑颗粒破碎的临界状态线的表达式可以较好的定量描述颗粒破碎时粗粒土的临界状态线的变化。

he grain crushing of coarse granular soils with high stress level has significant influence on its strength and deformation mechanisms. The soil mechanics theory based on critical state concept can describe the stress-strain relationship of reconstituted soil materials successfully, but currently for coarse granular soils, few studies are conducted on influence of grain crushing on critical states and mathematical description of critical state line. Based on lots of available test results, we investigated the critical states of coarse granular soils taking into account grain crushing and proposed a new formulation describing critical state line. Breakage index is first put forward to quantify the degree of breakage of soils and influence of grain crushing on critical states is then analyzed from which the mathematical equation of critical state line are deduced taking into account grain crushing. Finally the evolving rules of critical state lines with varying breakage index in coordinate plane of are explored in detail and compared with the results of triaxial compression tests, which indicts that the formulation of critical state line proposed here can describe quantitatively the critical state lines for coarse granular soils when grain crushing taking place.
