Preparation of liquid paraffin microcapsules by emulsion-solvent evaporation technique

采用简单易控的乳化-溶剂挥发法制备了聚苯乙烯(PS)包覆液体石蜡微胶囊,通过光学显微镜(OM)、激光粒度分布仪和傅里叶变换红外光谱仪(FT-IR)对微胶囊的形貌、粒径分布及化学结构进行了表征。结果表明:选择聚乙烯醇作为乳化剂时,所制得的微胶囊表面光滑,粒径分布窄,体积平均粒径约为150 μm,乳化剂浓度和芯材/壁材投料质量比等对微胶囊的大小和粒径分布有较大影响。

Polystyrene (PS) microcapsules containing liquid paraffin have been prepared by emulsion-solvent evaporation technique. The surface morphology, diameter distribution and chemical structure of the microcapsules were investigated by optical microscope (OM), laser particle size analyzer and FT-IR, respectively. The results indicated that when polyvinyl alcohol was selected as the emulsifying agent, the microcapsules had an average diameter of 150 μm, smooth surface morphology and fine dispersive properties. Size and distribution of PS microcapsules can be greatly adjusted by changing processing parameters, e.g., emulsifier concentration and feeding weight ratio of core/shell materials.
