Synthesis of PBS/PLA copolymer and physiological impact on green vegetables

聚丁二酸丁二醇酯(PBS)、聚乳酸(PLA)等可生物降解材料因其良好的可生物降解性广泛用于农业大棚、地膜等,但其生物降解过程中产生的低聚物及单体对蔬菜的生理指标的影响少有报道。本研究采用熔融缩聚及酯交换法合成不同数均分子量(Mn=5×103,8×103,1.6×104)的聚丁二酸丁二醇酯/聚乳酸(PBS/PLA)共聚物,并研究了其对青菜不同生长期叶片内可溶性蛋白质质量分数、叶绿素质量浓度、丙二醛(MDA)质量摩尔浓度及过氧化物酶(POD)活性的影响。结果表明:(1)与空白组(CK)相比,0.022%PBS/PLA共聚物(Mn=5×103)处理组在7d、14d时使可溶性蛋白质质量分数、MDA质量摩尔浓度明显增加,叶绿素质量浓度、POD活性影响较小;21d、28d时可溶性蛋白、叶绿素、丙二醛显著减少,POD活性增加;(2)Mn=8×103的PBS/PLA共聚物各处理组前14d对蛋白质、叶绿素影响不显著,21d后0.22%和2.2%处理组均降低。(3)在前21d,0.022%的PBS/PLA共聚物处理组(Mn=5×103,8×103)MDA、POD活性无显著性变化,28d时MDA降低、POD活性增加。因此,土壤中PBS/PLA共聚物及其残留物对植物的生长存在着一定的风险

Poly (butylene succinate) (PBS), polylactic acid (PLA) has been widely used as mulch film in the agriculture because ofits good biodegradability, but during the biological degradation process, the physiological effects of oligomer and monomer on thevegetables has been rarely reported. PBS/PLA copolymers (Mn=5×103, 8×103, 1.6×104) were synthesized by the two-stage meltpolycondensation method composing of esterification and polycondensation, and then studied the impact on protein mass fraction,chlorophyll mass concentration, MDA molality and POD activity during the different stages of green vegetable leaves. The resultsshowed that: (1) Compared with CK, the protein mass fraction and MDA molality with PBS/PLA copolymer (Mn=5×103, w=0.022%)treatment increased significantly, while chlorophyll mass concentration and POD activity was little changed at 7 d and 14 d. After 3weeks, the protein mass fraction, chlorophyll mass concentration and MDA molality decreased remarkably while POD activityincreased. (2) PBS/PLA copolymer (Mn=8×103) had no clear effect on protein and chlorophyll at 14 d, and then the protein andchlorophyll of the treatment (w=0.22%, 2.2%) decreased at a low level. (3) PBS/PLA copolymers (Mn=5×103, 8×103, w=0.022%)treatment had no significant effect on MDA and POD activity before 21 d, MDA decreased and POD activity increased at 28 d. In aword, the PBS/PLA copolymers and their residues have a certain risk to plant growth.
