Effect of angular discretization on the radiation heat transfer by finite volume method

采用有限体积法计算四边形区域内吸收发射性介质的辐射传递问题,研究了区域内部角离散数目和边界处像素点数目对辐射计算结果精度的影响。计算结果与理论值吻合的很好。结果表明,计算精度和计算时间都随着区域内部空间角离散数目的增加而增加。边界处像素点数目的增加使计算时间增加,而对计算精度影响比较小。因此在实际应用中要根据具体的情况来选择合适的角度离散数目。

he finite volume method is applied for the radiation heat transfer in a quadrilateral enclosure containing absorbing and emitting medium. The effects of the internal angular discretization number and the pixel number at the boundary on the radiation calculation are investigated. The validity of the finite volume method code is verified since the calculated results match well with the exact values. With the increase of the internal angular discretization number, the precision is improved and the computational time increases. The increase of the pixel at the boundary leads to more computational time and little effect on the efficiency. Thus the selection of the number of the internal angular discretization and pixel should be based on practical situation.
