尾链数目对聚苯乙烯类高分子相行为和相结构的影响
he Influence of The Number of Tail Chains on The Phase Behavior and Phase Structure of Polystyrene Polymer
本文设计并合成了一系列含有不同烷烃尾链数目的聚苯乙烯类衍生物(PS-m),即聚4-十四烷氧基苯乙烯(PS-1),聚3, 5-二(十四烷氧基)苯乙烯(PS-2),聚3, 4, 5-三(十四烷氧基)苯乙烯(PS-3)。通过DSC、POM、1D and 2D WAXD,对聚合物的液晶相行为和相结构进行了表征,考察了"侧基膨胀效应"对该类液晶高分子相重入行为的影响。研究结果表明,苯环末端尾链的数目对该类聚合物的相行为有重要的影响。对于PS-1和PS-2而言,在熔点以上聚合物都是以无定型态存在;而当 m = 3时,聚合物在熔点以上首先是以无定型态存在,当温度升到240℃时,聚合物会形成稳定的柱状相结构,并且在分解温度前其柱状相保持不变,即表现出Ire (重入各向同性相)的性质;PS-3的在升温过程中相行为表现为烷烃尾链结晶相?各向同性相?柱状相。
series of polystyrenes with the different number of alkyl tails (PS-m) were synthesized via conventional free radical polymerization. The chemical structures of the monomers were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Mass Spectrometry. The corresponding polymers were performed with 1H NMR, gel permeation chromatography and thermos-gravimetric analysis. The phase behaviors of the polymers were investigated by the combination of techniques including differential scanning calorimetry, polarizing optical microscope , 1D and 2D wide-angle X-ray diffraction, respectively. The results showed that the number of alkyl tails has significant effects on the phase structure and phase transition for the polystyrenes. When m = 1 and 2, PS-1 and PS-2 was amorphous above the melting point. However, for PS-3, above the melting point, the polymer was the amorphous firstly, when the temperature rose to about 240℃, PS-3 formed a columnar nematic phase structure. On the subsequent cooling, the LC phase disappeared, indicated PS-3 shows a reentrant isotropic phase during the heating process.
