he k-ε turbulence model was used to simulate the mixing effect of the mixer with the normal array and staggered array of tabs with flowrate ratio of 1:10 under Reynolds number 50000. The numerical simulation of the mixing effect of the HEV-type mixer shows that the CoV of the mixer with the normal array of tabs approaches to 0.406, which is lower than the CoV 0.453 of mixer with the staggered array of tabs under flow ratio 1:10, Reynolds number 50000. The difference is mainly due to the compression effect made by the side wall; Optimized dosage was proposed. When added at the side of the mixer, the tributary with vertical velocity towards the main stream has a better effect than the one with parallel velocity. Under flow ratio 1:10, Reynolds number 50000 the CoV of the mixer with the normal array of tabs decrease from 0.406 to 0.283.
