Block copolymer is a new type of polymer material with more and more attention, atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) as a "living / controlled" method, is playing an important role in the synthesis of block copolymers. This paper describes the synthesis of block polymers by ATRP with different properties in the recent years, and forecasted the future development of the application of ATRP in the synthesis of block copolymers.
