随着无线技术的飞速发展,无线环境存在各种各样的异构网络。异构网络将满足移动用户不同的应用需求,并提供通信的连续性。然而,异构无线网络对不同接入技术之间的合作带来了挑战。高效的切换是应对这些挑战的重要解决方案。本文中,我们提出了一种移动分类策略(MCS)来辅助切换决策。基于定位信息的数据,如位置坐标,移动速度和方向,MCS可以预测移动节点运动的下一个位置,区分不同的情况,并辅助切换决策来改善通信性能。分析结果表明:MCS的出色表现有效的辅助了切换策略机制。

With the rapid development of wireless technologies, various kinds of networks are deployed with different attributes. Heterogeneous networks will satisfy diverse application requirements for mobile users, and offer communication continuity. However, heterogeneous wireless networks impose challenges about cooperation of different access technologies. Efficient handoff is one important solution to address these challenges. In this paper, we proposed a motion classification strategy (MCS) to assist handoff decision. Based on positioning information data such as location coordinates, moving velocity and direction, MCS can predict the next location for a mobile node (MN) in motion, distinguish different motion scenarios, and assist handoff decision to improve communication performances. The analysis results demonstrate the excellent performance of MCS assisted handoff decision mechanism.
