对中国城镇体系职能结构的再探索
RE-DISCUSSION ON FUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE OF CHINESE CITY SYSTEM
基于五普和第二次基本单位普查数据，综合采用聚类分析和判别分析等方法，对2000年全国649个县级以上城市进行了综合性和制造业职能分类，并对原职能分类的方法进行了改进。综合性职能分类结果包含3个大类、15个亚类和32个职能组。制造业职能分类结果表明：①中国城市的制造业职能表现出浓厚的重工业色彩；②食品、化学、非金属矿物、传统机械、造纸是中国城市当前最普遍的制造业专业化部门；③纺织业仍然是中国城市工业职能的重要组成部门。分类结果是国家和各省制定分类指导的城市发展政策（投资、财政等）的重要参照。
Based on 5th population census and 2nd basic units census, this paper classifies 649 of Chinese cities above county level by their comprehensive and manufacturing function jointly using the hierarchical cluster method and discriminant method. The result of comprehensive function classification contains 3 big categories, 15 sub-categories and 32 function groups. The result of manufacturing function classification indicates that: first, the manufacturing function of Chinese cities presents a clear characteristic of heavy industries; second, food, chemistry, non-metal mineral, traditional manufacturing and paper industry are the most universal manufacturing specialized sectors; third, spinning is still an important function of Chinese cities.
