由稻瘟病菌侵染引起的稻瘟病是影响水稻产量的重要因素之一。本研究采用反向遗传学策略,对稻瘟病菌一个激酶编码基因Bur1实施干扰表达,以研究其致病功能。数据库搜索发现,Bur1是一个进化非常保守的蛋白,在真菌、植物及动物等各物种中广泛存在。实验结果显示,Bur1基因mRNA受干扰影响、丰度下降后,相应菌株的致病力显著下降,在一定范围内,菌株的致病力与其Bur1基因mRNA水平成正相关。以上研究结果表明,Bur1基因在稻瘟病菌致病过程中发挥重要功能。

Rice blast, induced by Magnaporthe oryzae, is a damaging fungal plant disease worldwide. In this paper, we found that Bur1, encoding a conserved kinase, play important roles in pathogenicity of Magnaporthe oryzae. Out data showed that, the RNAi strains of Bur1 gene could not infect rice successfully, much similar to the phenotype observed with the T-DNA insertional Bur1 mutant; the less the Bur1 mRNA level, the weaker the pathogenicity. Our results imply that Bur1 was an essential gene for the infection of the rice blast fungus.
