雾聚合法制备耐磨棉织物

Simple Fabrication of Abrasive-resistant Cotton Fabrics via Mist Polymerization

本文以聚氨酯预聚物和乙二醇作为单体,通过雾聚合法制备耐磨棉织物。马丁代尔耐磨试验表明改性棉织物的耐磨性提高了一倍左右。用场发射扫描电子显微镜研究了改性棉织物的表面形貌和纳米结构,结果表面改性棉织物的表面形成了薄聚氨酯层,从而使其耐磨性提高。此外,经雾聚合改性前后的棉织物的固有性能,如吸水性、透气性、力学性能和柔软性等均无明显变化。说明雾聚合法不但能够改性棉织物,还能最大限度的保持其原有性能,具有良好的工业应用前景。

We report here a simple method to fabricate abrasive-resistant cotton fabrics via a mist polymerization of two monomers, polyurethane (PU) prepolymer and ethylene glycol (EG). The abrasion resistance of the fabric treated by this method has been increased by about one time according to Martindale test. The morphology and nanoscale hierarchical structures in the polymeric layer on the cotton surface were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) analysis. The results confirmed the formation of thin polyurethane layer on the cotton surface which can increase the abrasion resistance. More experimental data suggest that the intrinsic properties of cotton fabric, such as water absorptivity, vapor transmissibility, mechanical properties, and flexibility, were inherited after the surface modification. These properties are of great significance in textile and medical applications.
