在语义网中OWL是一种重要本体语言。随着应用的不断深入,OWL不能直接形式化的描述多元关系的不足被逐步认识。具体化方法是OWL中用二元关系表示多元关系的一种通用的方法,从理论方法上,以往的研究缺少对这种方法的探讨。本文的目的就是要系统的研究具体化的相关理论,本文从三元关系的具体化方法出发,进而把相关理论方法扩展到多元关系上。具体内容如下:1)在总结相关研究的基础上,本文提出了三元关系具体化的概念,并且结合这些概念讨论了两种具体化方法:一种方法需要定义具体化概念,而另一种不需要;2)为了进一步揭示了那些三元关系在具体化的过程中不需要定义具体化概念,本文提出了三元关系的关系三角形模型和顶点概念等相关理论;3)本文所提出的相关理论方法不仅仅适用于三元关系,同时也适用于多元关系,在文章的最后,我们概要的讨论了如何把本文的相关理论方法扩展到任意元关系中去。

In semantic web, OWL is an important formal knowledge representing language. A well-known limitation of OWL is the n-ary relation, which appears in many applications. Reification is a general method which can use binary relations to represent n-ary relations. Previous studies have proposed some kinds of reification methods, but lacked of formal definitions and models. In this paper, we systematically investigate the method of reifying the n-ary relations in OWL. The main contents of the paper are shown as follows: 1) We propose the definition of reifying form of the ternary relations. By this theory, we discuss two type reification methods. One needs construct new concept for reifying, the other needs not. 2) In order to find the relationship between the ternary relations and their reifying methods, we propose the model of relation triangle and Apical Concept. 3) At last, we extend our theory to n-ary relations.
